In charge of pyrotechnic safety

What has your professional career been since leaving ENSTA Bretagne?

I found my first job during my end-of-studies internship (PFE). It was a position at CEA (Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives). I worked there for a little over 2 years on different sites. Then, in 2014, I was hired at Naval Group (formerly DCNS). I am currently in my third position at Naval Group.

What position do you now hold? What does your work involve?

Today, I am responsible for the pyrotechnic safety of various surface ships and submarines. I have a very cross-disciplinary position, on different programmes. I have to ensure that ordnance or weapons can be taken on board as safely as possible and in accordance with the customer's expectations. So my work has a direct impact on the ship's design.

What appeals to you about this job? And in your professional field?

I love the extremes of the pyrotechnics world. A very high technicality of certain products alongside pragmatism and common sense: for example, you don't weld next to a missile in a ship! And I love this connection with the sea that I have always had.

A word for future women engineers graduating from ENSTA Bretagne?
