ENSTA Bretagne : atelier d'écriture

A short-story competition and writing workshops to set your pen free

ENSTA Bretagne
For the first time, at the initiative of a group of students, teachers and support staff, a short-story competition is being organized at ENSTA Bretagne. A series of writing workshops is being offered at lunchtime by teachers in the humanities and social sciences to explore and improve creative writing.
ENSTA Bretagne : atelier d'écriture sur les dialogues en français et en anglais

By 12:30 pm, the classroom was gradually filling up. Some were starting their lunchbox meals, while others were ready to take notes. A dozen or so students and staff from the school had come together for this session on writing dialogues in French and English (the competition included the possibility of submitting entries in both languages). The English teacher leading the sequence explained the context and offered tips and techniques to make writing easier. The atmosphere was friendly, and everyone was able to experiment and try out new techniques to find their own style and identify the wording best suited to their story.

Five workshops have been scheduled since October. Each time a different topic is proposed: "Freedom in constraint", "The Reality Effect in Fiction"... The latest in the series, entitled "I don't know what to write! How do I get started ?" ("Je ne sais pas quoi écrire ! Et comment je commence ?") will take place on December 12, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm in room F105.

The aim of this short-story competition is to give engineering students the opportunity to express their creativity beyond complex mathematical formulas and equations.
Contestants have until February 2, 2024 to submit their short stories to the jury. The topic chosen for this first edition is "SPORT/SPORTS".
