This work follows on from the final-year project in the vehicle architecture major. The 2 engineering students assessed the potential of sodium-ion batteries compared with lithium solutions, and identified the applications in which their use is relevant. The study panel ranged from battery chemistry to the start of vehicle architecture.
This first prize, awarded by SIA and AVL, allowed them to attend the Belgian Formula 1 Grand Prix and watch the free practice sessions and the sprint race on Saturday. Afterwards, they also had the privilege of visiting the Alpine racing team.
Alain Poulhalec, the teacher in charge of the vehicle architecture major, praised the quality of the students' work and their commitment to this project.
