The eagerly-awaited graduation ceremony
The young engineer, master and specialized advanced master graduates all turned out and were all called on stage to receive their degrees from the director of ENSTA Bretagne, Pascal Pinot, and the heads of academic staff. Most had completed their training at the beginning of September and are already employed in various sectors such as the maritime, defense, aeronautic, aerospace, information technology, automotive industries and research. They work as study, test, design, R&D engineers and manage projects in France and abroad
Most are general engineers who have specialized in an area of expertise such as naval architecture, vehicle architecture, mechanical modeling, pyrotechnics, hydrography, information technologies, robotics, or followed a mixed program in engineering and management. 20% of them are military engineers and work for the Direction Générale de l’Armement (DGA or French Procurement Agency).
These prizes rewarded the valedictorians and high-level application projects, awarded by numerous partners: RINA, Bureau Veritas, NDAR, ID4CAR, IFHS, THALES, the Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique, l’AF3P, MBDA, the ATMA and the Campus des Industries Navales.
On behalf of the Naval Group, the cohort’s « godparent », Hervé Guillou, rewarded associative investment:
- The award for « sports, cultural commitment and team spirit » went to Iroise-Marie Julien, president of ENSTA Bretagne’s brass band and Quintin Penloup, president of ENSTAéro (aeronautics) club.
- The award for « ethical and social commitment » was awarded to the ENSTA Bretagne ENACTUS clubs (social entrepreneurship) and BEST ENSTA Bretagne (European network of engineering students)
Two new degrees were also among the highlights of this year’s ceremony:
The cohort’s « godparent », Hervé Guillou, chairman and chief executive officer of Naval Group, attended the ceremony.
As chairman and chief executive officer of the European leader in naval defense, Hervé Guillou warmly praised the graduates of this school which offers numerous courses preparing for a career in the naval sector.
