What do you remember most about this campaign?
I think that what I enjoyed best of all over these three weeks was all the discussions we were able to have with students at ENSTA Bretagne and the team members. It was so rewarding to be able to chat with so many people from different backgrounds.
What set you apart from the other candidate teams during the campaigns?
Because our team had a small budget, we had to make choices. We didn’t have the best start to the campaigns, but we improved as time went on. We took the students’ constructive criticisms on board and that helped us to progress.
Another aspect that played out in our favor is that our team members were students with a wide variety of profiles. This meant we were able to connect with a broad swathe of the student population.
What did you focus on during your campaign?
There are two projects that particularly matter to us:
- reducing the carbon footprint of the Student Union and of the students as a whole: for example, we have come up with a “Cycling Officer” position to encourage more students to take up cycling.
- opening a support and professional referral unit for anyone struggling with addiction.
What other plans do you have?
We are in the process of setting up partnerships in the sports, culture and social spheres (with bookshops, a cycle shop, surf shop, bar and restaurants).
The aim is to organize a host of different activities, for free or at an affordable price, thereby helping to combat precarious situations among students.
