Ahead of Pride Month and to coincide with Lesbian Visibility Day, Stop Discri*1 and the BAR (Brigade Anti Relou)*2 put on a range of activities for ENSTA Bretagne staff and students.
A temporary exhibition on the history and daily reality of the LGBT+ community is currently on display in the School’s Great Hall, until the end of June.
The organizers say that:
Feedback on the exhibition has been overwhelmingly positive, with most students showing a genuine interest".
A collective work was produced during this special day: a DIY workshop was organized to make a rainbow flag, the symbol of the LGBT+ movement.
Other highlights of Pride Day included a workshop entitled “comment être allié.e” (how to be supportive), led by Sébastien Chambres, an actor, director and specialist in discrimination.
Drawing on various examples and testimonies, Sébastien Chambres was able to talk with students and staff about good practices to adopt if cases of bullying, discrimination or violence are witnessed. With plenty of humour and compassion, the director sparked questions and came up with solutions in keeping with each participant’s character.
The students of the BAR confirm:
"plans to hold other workshops and activities of this type over the coming months".
